Northumbria Police officers taped off part of Ferndale Avenue and forensic officers were seen at the property after the alarm was raised in the early hours of the morning.<br /><br />The North East Ambulance Service alerted police to to the tragedy after its medics were first asked to attend the address, which is off Sunderland Road.
